Enclosing End

2006.08.08

Today, I finally got around to enclosing the west end of the planting bed.  The first step was to clear out the weeds, and push back the gravel, soil, and mulch.

I still had a pressure-treated 2x6x12 left over, so I hauled this out and set up a saw station by the garage.  I cut two pieces to fit, and fastened them together with a couple mending plates and some screws.

After the end wall was in place, I filled in behind it with sand and gravel in back, compost and soil in front.  Still need to add some mulch on top, but no hurry.
