Second Snow

2007.01.17

Yesterday we had a pretty good snowfall for Portland.  As usual, it threw the city into chaos.  Since I’d worked some overtime, I decided to take a couple days off and avoid the public transit debacle.  Trimet is never prepared for bad weather, or any other unusual circumstances for that matter.

I took my car down to the Honda place for a major tuneup.  Then I waited half an hour for the bus, gave up, and hiked home through the snow, a little over a mile and a half.  Somewhere along the way I passed a bus stop and saw a guy I used see on the bus ride to work.  He was still waiting on the bus, and this was about 10:30 am.

Today I got the snowshovel out and cleared a path from the house to the garage, as well as some tracks for the car in the driveway.  Shoveling snow is hard work, even if it’s just three or four inches or so.
