Oregon Coast

I have made many trips to the Pacific coast of Oregon, in almost every season.  There is always something enchanting and powerful about the sea.  Although Cannon Beach is only about an hour’s drive from Portland, the coast feels like a different world, with small fishing villages, classic lighthouses, dramatic rock outcroppings, and the constant roar of the surf.  Here are accounts from some of my coastal explorations.  Technically a couple of these are on the Washington coast.

Fort Clatsop
Fort Stevens
Cape Disappointment
Fort Columbia
Astoria, Flavel House
Heceta Head
Cape Meares Lighthouse
