Tenoning the Aprons

2012.11.12

I started with the back apron.  After sawing away the waste, there was some work with the shoulder plane and a chisel to adjust the fit.

I decided to gang-saw the narrow ends of the tenons on the side aprons.  The long shoulders were then worked individually.

The risk of marking and sawing multiple pieces at once is that they might not match the various mating pieces.  I had to add small filler pieces to most of the tenons to fill the mortises I’d already chopped.  So maybe gang-sawing is not a good idea.
